This process duplicates one hard disk to another. This technique ensures a spare hard disk (Ghost Disk - usually kept off site) to be an exact copy of the original (Server Hard Disk) at time of Ghosting, whereby if the Server hard disk fails, then the Ghost disk can be inserted, replacing the original. The latest user data can then be recovered from tape and then the latest Patches and Service Packs can be installed.
In the event of a disaster (fire, etc.), this technique ensures that the mission critical Server has little down time – i.e. the Server can be re-built relatively quickly.
This service is usually made monthly, quarterly or after a major Software Installation or Service Pack. The cost of this service is £100 + VAT + Callout where applicable.
